The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Panevezio's (8-9) home victory over 9th ranked Perkunas (4-13) 126-82 on Sunday. The game without a history. Panevezio led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 112 of its points in the paint compared to Perkunas' 58. Panevezio forced 19 Perkunas turnovers and outrebounded them 60-27 including a 44-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 38 assists comparing to just 20 passes made by Perkunas' players. The best player for the winners was guard Arnas Strikulys (188-2005) who had a double-double by scoring 47 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds (on 23-of-29 shooting from the field). Guard Nikas Stuknys (194-2005) chipped in a triple-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 15 assists and 4 steals. Four Panevezio players scored in double figures. Laurynas Vilimas (-2005) produced 26 points and 8 rebounds and Martynas Mejaras (-2005) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Panevezio maintains eighth place with 8-9 record. Perkunas lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. Panevezio will meet higher ranked Zalgiris II (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Perkunas will play against the league's second-placed SKM I and will have a slim chance for a victory.
