The game between closely ranked teams ended with eleventh ranked Ploiesti CSU's (3-2) home victory over 12th ranked Gheorgheni (1-2) 67-60 on Sunday. Gheorgheni was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Ploiesti CSU forced 28 Gheorgheni turnovers. Strangely Gheorgheni outrebounded Ploiesti CSU 42-28 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Calin Dumitru who scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Alexandru Chirila chipped in 14 points. Tamas Bodo produced 14 points and 9 rebounds and Tamas Laszlo added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ploiesti CSU moved-up to third place, which they share with Craiova 2. Gheorgheni at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with two games lost. They share it with Stomart Iasi. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
