There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Cankaya (9-11) lost to tenth ranked Ormanspor (7-13) in Ankara 82-94 on Monday. Ormanspor dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Cankaya's 26. They outrebounded Cankaya 36-24 including 27 on the defensive glass. Ormanspor looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by Montenegrin center Jelena Dubljevic (191-1987, agency: BeoBasket) who scored that evening 28 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American power forward Reshanda Gray (192-1993, college: California) supported her with 27 points and 9 rebounds. Even 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists by Croatian-American Shavonte Zellous (178-1986, college: Pittsburgh) did not help to save the game for Cankaya. Center Gizem Tuzun (194-1994) added 18 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Four Ormanspor and five Cankaya players scored in double figures. Ormanspor maintains tenth position with 7-13 record. Loser Cankaya dropped to the eighth place with 11 games lost. Ormanspor will meet higher ranked Besiktas (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cankaya will play against the league's leader Mersin and will have a slim chance for a victory.
