No shocking result in a game when second ranked Baerum (16-5) beat 5th ranked Midtbyen (7-16) in Trondheim 66-48 on Saturday. Baerum outrebounded Midtbyen 53-39 including 20 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Julie McCarthy (190-1993, college: Florida Tech) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 18 rebounds. American swingman Abbey Hoff (183, college: Miami, OH) accounted for 13 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. American guard Dominique Leonidas (165, college: Boise St.) came up with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and guard Emma Mathilde Tallaksen (174-1999) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Midtbyen in the defeat. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Baerum. Defending champion maintains second place with 16-5 record having five points less than leader Ulriken. Midtbyen lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 16 games lost. Baerum will meet league's leader Ulriken in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Midtbyen will have a break next round.
