Winner League top team - Maccabi Tel-Aviv (16-3) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (9-10) in Nes Ziyona 91-84. They outrebounded Ironi Nes-Ziona 37-23 including a 15-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Maccabi Tel-Aviv players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was a great evening for the former international forward Jake Cohen (209-1990, college: Davidson) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 8 rebounds. American-Spanish point guard Lorenzo Brown (196-1990, college: NC State) helped adding 10 points and 10 assists. Four Maccabi Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. Maccabi Tel-Aviv's coach Oded Kattash allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American point guard DJ Cooper (183-1990, college: Ohio) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 16 assists and the other American import forward Tyler Bey (201-1998, college: Colorado, agency: Agency) scored 19 points (made all of his eight free throws). Maccabi Tel-Aviv have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-3 record. Ironi Nes-Ziona at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with H.Be'er Sheva. Maccabi Tel-Aviv will play against bottom-ranked Gilboa Galil (#12) in Gan Ner in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play on the road against Bnei Hasharon (#8) in Hod Hasharon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
