Regular Season Round 18: PAOK - Panathinaikos 81-73

The most important game in the last round took place in Thessaloniki between second ranked Panathinaikos (14-3) and sixth ranked PAOK (10-8) on Monday night. Panathinaikos was defeated by PAOK in a tough game on the road 73-81. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Panathinaikos. American guard Jaylen Hands (191-1999, college: UCLA, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 27 points to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Tyler Polley (203-1999, college: UConn) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international center Georgios Papagiannis (220-1997) with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and American Dwayne Bacon (201-1995, college: FSU) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. PAOK moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Promitheas. Panathinaikos at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. PAOK is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Karditsas (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Panathinaikos will play against the league's leader Olympiacos (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
