Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Baskonia B (5-18) was edged on the road by sixth ranked Zamora (12-11) 95-93 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was American forward Evan Yates (198-1991, college: Ashland) who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized Lithuanian forward Erikas Kalinicenko (198-1997) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Yates is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Russian Pavel Savkov (200-2002) produced 31 points and Senegalese Ousmane Ndiaye (210-2004) added 10 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Zamora maintains sixth place with 12-11 record, which they share with Ponferrada. Newly promoted Baskonia B keeps the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Mollet. Zamora will meet Tormes (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Baskonia B will play against Algeciras and hope to secure a win.
