Date: March 18, 2023
No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Cherkasy (6-20) crushed bottom-ranked Zaporizhye (3-24) in Zaporozhye 66-47. The game was mostly controlled by Cherkasy. Zaporizhye was better in third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Zaporizhye to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Cherkasy forced 25 Zaporizhye turnovers. It was a great evening for Nikita Ruslov (195-1996, agency: BIG) who led his team to a victory scoring 10 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. American BJ Maxwell (194-1997, college: IUPUI, agency: SLN) helped adding 17 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cherkasy maintains seventh place with 6-20 record. Zaporizhye at the other side stay dead last with 24 lost games. Cherkasy will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
