There was a minor upset in Zaragoza where 4th placed Girona B (13-8) was defeated by seventh ranked Alfinden (12-10) 90-77 on Saturday. Alfinden outrebounded Girona B 43-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Beninese forward Soulemane Chabi-Yo (198-1996) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 24 rebounds. Alejandro Vicente (182-2002) helped adding 21 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Point guard Adria Moncanut (183-2002) responded with 19 points and 4 steals and Toni Espinosa (195-1996) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alfinden moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Girona B keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. They share it with Alcala and Zentro Basket. Alfinden will meet league's leader Mataro UE on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Girona B will play against Martorell and hope to secure a win.
