Regular Season Round 32: Tychy - UMCS Start 110-63

There was no surprise in Tychy where 18th ranked Start 2 (1-31) was outplayed by fourth ranked GKS (21-11) 110-63 on Saturday. GKS dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Start 2's 32. They outrebounded Start 2 42-17 including a 30-11 advantage in defensive rebounds. GKS looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Start 2's players. The best player for the winners was power forward Andrzej Krajewski (203-2000) who scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Artur Ziaja (191-2000) chipped in 13 points, 6 assists and 6 steals. Norbert Ziolko (189-1999) produced 27 points and guard Kacper Switacz (182-2003) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. GKS maintains fourth position with 21-11 record. Start 2 lost twenty fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 31 lost games. GKS will meet league's leader Gornik in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Start 2 will play against Kociewskie Diably (#5) and hope to win that game.
