Leader Maroussi delivered the eighteenth win on Saturday night. This time they crushed 16th ranked Kavalas (3-22) 86-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kavalas. They outrebounded Kavalas 42-18 including a 30-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was point guard Orfeas Stasinos (183-1988) who scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Nikolaos Kamarianos (204-1997) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Maroussi players scored in double figures. American guard Antwain Johnson (188-1997, college: Buffalo, agency: Green Sports Management) produced 15 points and guard Marios Poulianitis (190-1998) added 14 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Maroussi maintains first position with 18-8 record, which they share with Psychikou. Kavalas at the other side stay dead last with 22 lost games. Maroussi is looking forward to face Agriniou (#12) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Kavalas will play against Iraklis (#4) in Thessaloniki and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
