Regular Season Round 32: Giessen - Bremerhaven 89-88

Important game to mention about took place in Giessen. Fifth ranked 46ers (20-12) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 8th ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (17-15) 89-88 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. Strangely Eisbaeren Bremerhaven outrebounded 46ers 34-21 including 23 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jordan Barnes (178-1997, college: Indiana St.) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 7 assists and Serbian forward Stefan Fundic (200-1994) who added 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four 46ers players scored in double figures. Naturalized American Jarelle Reischel (200-1992, college: EKU) responded with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and American point guard Matt Frierson (185-1997, college: Citadel) scored 22 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. 46ers have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven at the other side dropped to the seventh position with 15 games lost. They share it with Hagen. 46ers will play against Kirchheim Knights (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will play against Gladiators (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
