Regular Season Round 1: Cankaya - Botas 70-76

Very significant was Botas A.'s 76-70 road victory against Cankaya. Botas A. players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American power forward Lyndra Weaver (185-1987, college: Virginia, agency: LBM Management) nailed a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and guard Nihal Yildirim (176-1990) accounted for 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Botas A. players scored in double figures. American guard Brooke McCarty-Williams (163-1995, college: Texas) came up with 29 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international center Melike Yalcinkaya (189-1993) added 17 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Cankaya in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Botas A. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cankaya will play on the road against Bursa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
