Regular Season Round 1: Bielsko-Biala - Bytom 89-83

Bielsko-Biala used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Bytom 89-83 on Saturday night. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Bielsko-Biala dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Polonia's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Point guard Wojciech Zub (181-1995) stepped up and scored 21 points and 7 assists for the winners and forward Robert Kozaczka (198-1981) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds. Bielsko-Biala's coach Grzegorz Blotko used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Michal Krawiec (195-1997) responded with 33 points (!!!) and Pawel Bogdanowicz (197-1987) scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bielsko-Biala will meet at home Cracovia in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Polonia will play against Gliwice 2 and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the 1Liga just one year after relegation.
