There was no surprise when 10th ranked Kayseri (2-3) was edged at home by third ranked Antalya (4-1) 107-106 on Saturday. Antalya looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American center Kelsey Bone (193-1991, college: Texas A&M) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 52 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds for the winners and American-Jordanian guard Aisha Sheppard (175-1998, college: Virginia Tech) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. American point guard Aaryn Ellenberg-Wiley (168-1992, college: Oklahoma) responded with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 7 assists and Romanian forward Claudia Cuic (182-1989) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Kayseri players scored in double figures. Kayseri's coach Emre Ozsari rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Antalya maintains third place with 4-1 record behind leader Fenerbahce. Loser Kayseri dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. They share it with Galatasaray and Izmit. Antalya will meet at home bottom-ranked Cankaya (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Kayseri will play against Emlak (#4) in Istanbul and hope to secure a win.
