Regular Season Round 2: Duga - Niksic 78-73
Date: October 11, 2023
No shocking result in a game in Sabac where Serbian Duga defeated Montenegrin Niksic 78-73 on Wednesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Niksic was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 20-12 charge of Duga, which allowed them to win the game. They also forced 21 Niksic turnovers. American forward Audrey McElhaney (180-1997, college: Clayton St.) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Sofija Zdrnja (-2003) chipped in 10 points and 4 assists during the contest. McElhaney is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Desirae Hansen (183-2000, college: McNeese St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Anastasija Begovic (175-2005) scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. Four Niksic players scored in double figures. Duga will meet Montana on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Niksic will play against Buducnost and hope to win that game.
