Regular Season Round 4: Ruzomberok - Kosice 102-50

The most important game in the last round took place in Ruzomberok between third ranked Kosice (2-2) and fourth ranked MBK (3-1) on Saturday night. Kosice was crushed by MBK on the road 102-50. It was a key game for the second position in the league. MBK dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Kosice's 24. MBK forced 31 Kosice turnovers and outrebounded them 52-23 including a 25-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ukrainian forward Olha Yatskovets (188-1997, agency: LBM Management) fired a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. The former international Viktoria Havranova (178-1998) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Lucia Kasperanova (175-1998) produced 17 points and Emma Kmetoniova (179-2003) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. MBK moved-up to second place, which they share with Piestanske C. Kosice at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Young Angels and Samorin. MBK is looking forward to face Samorin (#5) on the road in the next round. Kosice's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kosice Young Angels.
