Regular Season Round 3: Duga - Montana 54-73

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Serbian Duga (2-1) in Sabac on Wednesday night. Hosts were rolled over by Bulgarian Montana (2-1) 73-54. The game was mostly controlled by Montana. Duga managed to win second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Montana forced 19 Duga turnovers. It was a good game for American guard Taya Robinson (176-1999, college: VCU, agency: Green Sports Management) who led her team to a victory with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. Her fellow American import forward Terae Briggs (190-1997, college: Nevada) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Olga Stepanovic (180-1994) answered with 11 points and 9 rebounds and forward Jelena Jozic (165-1989) added 5 points and 9 assists in the effort for Duga. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Montana is looking forward to face Sloga P. (#3) in Pozega in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Duga will play at home against Buducnost and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
