Regular Season Round 3: Tenerife - Cortegada 56-74

Everything went according to plan when Cortegada (2-1) defeated Tenerife (0-3) in San Cristobal 74-56 on Saturday. It was an exceptional evening for Austrian forward Anja Fuchs-Robetin (185-1996, college: FSC) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Angela Coello (184-1997, college: Winthrop) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. Point guard Clara Prieto (-2004) came up with 17 points and power forward Rita Esther Montenegro (188-1982) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Tenerife in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cortegada will meet at home Leon (#6) in the next round. Tenerife will play against Segle XXI (#3) in Barcelona and hopes to get finally their first victory.
