Regular Season Round 4: Banovici - Niksic 75-73

The most exciting game of round 4 in the WABA took place in Banovici. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of bottom-ranked Montenegrin Niksic (0-4) to fifth ranked Bosnian Banovici (1-3) 75-73 in the game for the fifth place. Banovici outrebounded Niksic 51-27 including a 37-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Nadia Thorman-McKey (180, college: Tuskegee) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and center Andjela Sipka (186-2002) who added 16 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Four Banovici players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Zana Tatar (182-2003) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Anastasija Begovic (175-2005) scored 21 points. Banovici maintains fifth position with 1-3 record, which they share with Lavovi. It was Niksic's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Banovici is looking forward to face league's leader Buducnost in Podgorica in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Niksic will play at home against the league's second-placed Montana (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
