Regular Season Round 5: Paralimni - Keravnos 43-97

Date: November 4, 2023
No shocking result in a game when leader Keravnos (4-0) crushed on the road bottom-ranked E.N. Paralimni (0-5) 97-43 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Keravnos. E.N. Paralimni managed to win third quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Keravnos dominated on the defensive end, holding E.N. Paralimni to just 4 points in fourth quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to E.N. Paralimni's 22. Keravnos forced 19 E.N. Paralimni turnovers and outrebounded them 39-26 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Keravnos looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by E.N. Paralimni's players. The former international forward Ioannis Pasiali (202-1997) nailed 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and the former international point guard Filippos Tigkas (184-2002) accounted for 16 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Four Keravnos players scored in double figures. American AJ Cheeseman (202-1998, college: UMES) came up with 9 points and the other American import point guard Anthony Adger (185-1996, college: FAU) added 12 points respectively for E.N. Paralimni in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Keravnos have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Apoel. Loser E.N. Paralimni still closes the standings with five games lost. Keravnos will meet at home AEL (#5) in the next round. E.N. Paralimni will play against APOP (#6) in Paphou and hopes to get finally their first victory.
