Regular Season Round 11: Jurmala - Neptunas 53-95

Bottom-ranked Latvian Jurmala is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to fourth ranked Lithuanian Neptunas (4-1) 95-53 on Wednesday evening. Neptunas dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Jurmala's 18. Neptunas forced 19 Jurmala turnovers and outrebounded them 36-22 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Neptunas looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Jurmala's players. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Marina Solopova (180-1990) who led the winners and scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Latvian forward Ruta Stipra (188-1994) accounted for 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Four Neptunas players scored in double figures. Latvian guard Zozefine Sipolina (173-2005) came up with 18 points and 5 rebounds and guard Nikola Ozola (170-2000, college: FAU) added 16 points respectively for Jurmala in the defeat. Neptunas moved-up to third place. Loser Jurmala still closes the standings with five games lost. Neptunas will meet at home Kibirkstis-MRU (#5) in the next round. Jurmala will play against Panevezys (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
