We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Ankara where 16th rankedSamsunspor (1-5) was defeated by seventeenth ranked Turk Telekom (2-5) 92-81 on Monday. Turk Telekom forced 24 Samsunspor turnovers. Strangely Samsunspor outrebounded Turk Telekom 52-39 including 37 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Erim Lif (-2005) who helped to win the game recording 40 points (!!!) and Oguz Yarkut (-2006) who added 9 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Mehmet Gur (-2004) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and Mehmet Ongel (-2005) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Four Samsunspor players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Turk Telekom moved-up to sixteenth place. Loser Samsunspor dropped to the seventeenth position with five games lost.
