Rather predictable result when third rankedTelsiai (24-7) smashed at home 7th ranked Vytis (2-16) 96-69 on Saturday. Telsiai dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Vytis ' 34. They outrebounded Vytis 44-24 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Telsiai looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Telsiai made 15 blocks. The best player for the winners was Deividas Rasys (197-1997, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Ovidijus Kaminskis (195-1991) chipped in 8 points and 8 rebounds. Telsiai's coach Povilas Sakinis felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Titas Janusevicius (188-2001) who recorded 17 points and point guard Deividas Kumelis (188-1995) added 13 points and 6 assists respectively. Telsiai maintains third position with 24-7 record having just eight point less than leader Palanga. Vytis lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 16 games lost. Telsiai will meet at home Jurbarkas (#4) in the next round. Vytis will play against Zalgiris II in Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
