Second Stage Round 1: Amager - Copenhagen 93-101
Date: March 2, 2024
There was a small surprise whenCopenhagen beat Amager in Kastrup 101-93 . Amager was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international swingman Martin Poulsen (195-1998, college: Mt.St.Mary's) stepped up and scored 30 points, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners and American power forward Durell Vinson (199-1985, college: Wagner) chipped in 19 points and 12 rebounds. Five Copenhagen players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Andrew Sims (198, college: Stonehill) responded with 25 points and 9 rebounds and guard Oscar Quackenbush (187-1999) scored 21 points and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Copenhagen will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Amager will play on the road against Holbaek and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
