Regular Season Round 15: RASHI - TSU 75-98
Date: March 10, 2024
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Tbilisi:TSU (#2) and RASHI (#8). RASHI was crushed at home by 23 points 75-98 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of RASHI. It looked good early as RASHI took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then TSU had a 31-17 second period charge getting the lead and RASHI was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 75-98. TSU players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a good game for the former international swingman Kakhaber Jintcharadze (196-1993, agency: BIG) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international forward Aleksandre Phevadze (207-1998, agency: BIG) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four TSU players scored in double figures. American forward Eric Frederick (203-1989, college: TxWes) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and Ukrainian center Igor Chumakov (205-1990, agency: BIG) added 8 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for RASHI. Defending champion (10-4) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Delta. RASHI at the other side keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Iverioni. TSU will play against bottom-ranked Rustavi (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. RASHI will play against the league's second-placed Delta in Gurjaani and hopes to get back on the winning track.
