Date: March 11, 2024
Bottom-ranked ASA Jerusalem is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 16th consecutive match to fifth ranked Ramat Hasharon (10-6) 94-64 on Monday evening. Ramat Hasharon forced 24 ASA Jerusalem turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international point guard Dor Saar (165-1999, college: MTSU) nailed 30 points and 5 assists for the winning side and American forward Shae Kelley (185-1991, college: Minnesota) accounted for 33 points (!!!) and 4 steals (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). Ramat Hasharon's coach Roie Levin felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized American guard Sydney Zambrotta (175-1997, college: GWU) came up with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Czech center Renata Brezinova (191-1990) added 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively for ASA Jerusalem in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ramat Hasharon. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with M.Ramat Gan. ASA Jerusalem lost their sixteenth game in a row. They still close the standings. Ramat Hasharon will meet at home league's second-placed H.Jerusalem in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ASA Jerusalem will play against M.Haifa (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
