Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Kaunas:Tornado KM (#2) and Zalgiris (#2). Tornado KM (19-4) won against visiting Zalgiris (19-3) 85-73 . It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Tornado KM. Zalgiris managed to win fourth quarter 20-18 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Tornado KM made 7 blocks. Center Arminas Vilkas (200-2007) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Armandas Bancevicius (203-2006) chipped in 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Tornado KM players scored in double figures. Tornado KM's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Mantas Juzenas (199-2006) produced 8 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Jokubas Rudaitis (198-2006) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Tornado KM maintains second position with 19-4 record having just one point less than leader Zalgiris. Loser Zalgiris still keeps top place with three games lost.
