Third-rankedRamat Gan (18-11) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Maccabi Tel-Aviv (25-4) on Friday. The visitors from Tel Aviv managed to secure only three-point victory 84-81 . However their fans expected easier game. M.Tel-Aviv looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Roman Sorkin (210-1996, college: Oregon) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 6 rebounds. Cuban power forward Jasiel Rivero (206-1993, agency: Pro Sports) contributed with 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Maccabi Tel-Aviv's coach Oded Kattash used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. South Sudanese-Australian center Mangok Mathiang (208-1992, college: Louisville) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and South Sudanese-American Nuni Omot (204-1994, college: Baylor) added 18 points in the effort for M.Ramat Gan. Four M.Ramat Gan players scored in double figures. Maccabi Tel-Aviv have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 25-4 record. M.Ramat Gan lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the third place with 11 games lost. They share the position with H.Jerusalem.
