Angers used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Tarbes 73-59 on Saturday night. Angers outrebounded Tarbes 34-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. American guard Ameryst Alston (175-1993, college: Ohio St.) fired 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Her fellow American import forward Joy Adams (180-1993, college: Iona) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Five Angers players scored in double figures. Nigerian center Murjanatu Musa (188-2000) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Camille Droguet (178-1999) added 12 points and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Angers will meet Roche in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tarbes will play against Charleville-M. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
