In the Martiniplaza on Saturday night, Hanzevast Capitals held a comfortable 1st half margin vs. reeling Aris Friesland, but managed to avert a 2nd half comeback thanks to strong backcourt play from Rogier Jansen and Torey Thomas, winning a 103-101 nailbiter. Hanzevast led at halftime 54-45 but Aris Friesland made an impressive comback, but in the end Hanzevast's depth was much better than their northern rivals. Jansen and Thomas led Hanzevast with 23 pts. and 5 assists each, with Jansen coming away with 5 steals. Hanzevast also had a 36-13 bench scoring difference and made 14 three-pointers. Aris Friesland, who shot 72.1 % FG and dished out 32 assists, were led by Matt Bauscher with a game-high 28 pts. Hanzevast gets back on track after the heartbreaker vs. Eclipse Jet/MyGuide, creeping closer to the top of the FEB at 8-4.
