Sunday night in the Martiniplaza, Hanzevast Capitals turned it up a notch in the final quarter, shaking off Upstairs Weert in a 90-80 win. Hanzevast had trouble with the Limburgers the first three quarters, but in the 4th outscored Upstairs by a 31-18 difference to seize the win. Upstairs could not match Hanzevast's inside-outside combinations, with the Hnazevast inside tag team combination of Julian Khazzouh (209-C-86) 23 pts., 16 rebounds) and Ransford Brempong (14 pts., 10 rebounds) being given too little resistance by their counterparts. Hanzevast's backcourt were no slouch either, with another strong performance by Torey Thomas (18 pts., 8 assists). Steve Ross and Nick Stapleton led Upstairs with 22 pts. each. Hanzevast improves to 18-10, while Upstairs fall to 9-19 and loses ground in the race for the last playoff spot. (by Sanders Jackson)
