Finals Game 1: S.Dragons - Tigers 93-81

Date: March 4, 2009
The South Dragons celebrated 93-81 in game No.1 of the grand final against the Melbourne Tigers. Mark Worthington (23 points, 10 rebounds) was a consistent force all night, but the 19 points exciting import Donta Smith contributed off the bench was just as important. Joe Ingles also shot 19 points for the Dragons, while big man Matt Burston picked up a handy 13 points and seven boards. Chris Anstey scored 21 points for the Tigers and Daryl Corletto contributed 10, but Ebi Ere (15 points on 4-of-12 shooting) and David Barlow (13 points on 4-of-15 shooting) were well held by the Dragons.
