In the Martiniplaza, with Hanzevast Capitals and Rotterdam Challengers being tied 26-26 at the end of the 1st quarter, Hanzevast Capitals took control of the game from the 2nd quarter on, with a stronger 3rd quarter effort widening the gap between the two teams, enabling Hanzevast to cruise to an 85-71 win. Hanzevast had good balanced scoring and also played good defense, holding the taller Rotterdam team to only 37.8% FG and forced 22 turnovers. With their ability to spread the floor and stretch the defense, it paid off with 13 made three-pointers, including six by Hanzevast sniper Will Whittington. Whittington led five Hanzevast players in double figures with 20 pts. Bobby Walker led the Rotterdammers with 19 pts. Hanzevast still has a shot at 2nd place in Wednesday's game vs. Eiffel Towers, but must win by 24 pts. to obtain that goal. (Sanders Jackson)
