Semi-Finals Game 1: Den Bosch - Groningen 70-62

In the Maaspoort in the Eiffel Towers-Hanzevast Capitals matchup, after a close 1st quarter, Eiffel built a comfortable margin in the 2nd quarter thanks to a 15-2 run, and did not panic when faced with a strong Hanzevast 3rd quarter run, not relinquishing the lead en route to winning 70-62. Eiffel's 15-2 run was fueled by the strong efforts of Anthony Richardson and Larry Abney. Eiffel would lead 40-31 at halftime. In the 2nd half, Hanzevast would come twice to one point, to 44-43 with 3:09 remaining after a Rogier Jansen, and with 5:31 remaining in regualtion after a Torey Thomas three-pointer to make it 59-58 for Eiffel, but unfortunately could not get over the hump. Eiffel managed to hold the fort with big baskets and Richardson making a difference inside with strong rebounding. Eiffel did well in crunch time making free throws with PG Dean Oliver making 4 of 4. Richardson led all scorers with 24 pts., with Abney snatching down 15 rebounds. Thomas led Hanzevast with 15 pts. Game #2 is Tuesday night in Groningen. (by Sanders Jackson)
