Finals Game 3: Bayamon - Quebradillas 89-92

The Pirates grabbed valuable 92-89 win last night for 2-1 record in BSN Finals. As a reminder, the Pirates had 1-0 after firts meetign, but Bayamon celebrated 79-73 in the second one. Now, the Pirates are again oen step closer to title in this best-of-sevens series. Greg Stevenson and Clifford Hammonds top-scored in victory with 22 points each. Shawn Redhage followed with 19, while Joel Jones delivered 13 pts. In Bayamon, Nathan Peavy collected 25 pts and 7 boards. Franklin Western had 20 pts and 7 rebs. It seems that lead which Pirates made in the secodn quarter was crucial last night. After 10 minutes of the game the score was tied 23-23, but after that Quebradillas took control on their rivals. Greg Stevenson and Clifford Hammonds were on fire helping thei squad to score 25 more pts until the half time. On the other side, Bayamon was stopped on 16. After the breather Bayamon was slightly bette rteam . Actually at the beginning of third stanza Quebradillas grabbed 15-point lead after 8-2 run. Bayamon responded quickly and until the end of third frame they closed the gap to 66-60. With 4 minutes less in the game Bayamon came to minus one, 74-73. However, Redhage, like Christian Dalmau in the second game, responded with four consecutive points and after basket by Peter John Ramos it was 83-76 for Quebradillas with 1:18 on the clock. Game No.4 is scheduled for tomorrow.
