South Korea celebrated in the opening day of FIBA Asia Championship 2009 in China. The Koreans were better than Japan 95-74 for 1-0 record in Preliminary Group A. Beside these two teams, participants of the same pool are Philippines and Sri Lanka. Yang Hee-Jong was a key player in the winning squad today scoring 23 points. Oh Sekeun followed with 14, while Ha Seung-Jin added 2 points less. In Team Japan, Daiji Yamada collected 21 points and 5 rebounds. Tomoo Amino had 15 points and 5 boards, while Joji Takeuchi stopped on 14 pts.
