Brazil registered comfortable victory in Day 1 of FIBA Americas Championship in San Juan. The Brazilians celebrated at Marchand Cup few days ago sending a clear signal that they are one of the favorite on this event. Brazil and Dominican Republic are together with Venezuela, Panama and Argentina placed in Group B. Alexandre Garcia and Leandrinho Barbosa shined in victory scoring 21 points each. Tiago Splitter had 14 and Anderson Varejao registered double-double, 10 pts ad 10 rebounds. Francisco Garcia responded with 17 points in loss. Charlie Villanueva stopped on 14 pts and 5 rebs. Tomorrow, Brazil will play against Venezuela. Dominican Republic will meet Panama.
