Penarol made another step towards Liga Americas crown. They coasted past Quimsa for the second straight win at the Final Four stage of the tournament. Pablo Sebastian Rodriguez and Kyle Lamonte scored 19 points apiece to lead the charge. Penarol will face the Mexican powerhouse Halcones Xalapa later tonight for the trophy. Penarol simply overwhelmed their opponents in this one. They led from start to finish. Penarol earned a 19:5 lead early in the encounter. Quimsa capped the term with five points in a row to sooth the pain. But Penarol just mounted the pressure as they ensured a 44:25 advantage at the interval. Penarol easily kept their counterparts at bay throughout the third stanza. The scoreboard read 69:39 with ten minutes to go. Quimsa could not recover in the final term and had to surrender at the end. Leonardo Gutierrez finished with 11 points for the winners. Julio Mazzaro was the only Quimsa player to deliver in double digits as he knocked down 18 points. Jose Muruaga nailed 8 points in the loss.
