Benetton claimed a road win over Bilbao in EuroCup K. The Italian team improved at 1-4 record without a single chance to reach the next stage. Bilbao in the meantime suffered the first loss in eleven games played in the tournament this season. Sandro Nicevic nailed 14 points to lead the visitors. Benetton surged ahead early in the game and maintained the advantage throughout the opening frame. They secured an 18:15 lead at the first break. Marko Banic and Salgado dropped five points to put Bilbao in front at the start of the second quarter. Soon the hosts ballooned the margin to a 7-point mark. Bilbao ensured a 34:33 halftime advantage. The Spaniards boosted the gap to as many as 10 points midway through the third term. But Benetton denied the deficit and entered the fourth quarter levelled with Bilbao at 53. It all came down to the final minutes in this one. The teams were tied at 65 with two minutes remaining. Sandro Nicevic and Jasmin Hukic fired five consecutive points for the visitors to put them in charge. Janis Blums responded with a three-pointer but K.C. Rivers uttered the last word sealing the victory for the Treviso outfit. K.C. Rivers and Davor Kus stepped up with 11 points each for Benetton. Daniel Hackett had 12 points in the victory. Marko Banic replied with 14 points for Bilbao. Levour Warren finished with 11 points in defeat.
