Regular Season Round 6: Arecibo - Humacao 98-91
Date: April 10, 2010
The Arecibo Captains made an offensive rally late in the 3rd quarter to beat the Humacao Caciques 98-91. The Caciques had an easy 1st quarter as they were up by 16 points midway thru the quarter, with 5:19 in the quarter John Millsap made a 3 pointer to put the Caciques comfortably in the lead 23-7. The Captains however kept their cool and slowly began to chip away at the lead, they reduced the lead by half as the quarter came to an end 30-22. In the 2nd quarter, the Caciques once again extended their lead, this time to 15 points as Miguel Berdiel buried a 3 pointer with 3:52 to go in the half, 47-32. Once again the Captains made their offensive run and were behind by 8 points as the half came to an end, 51-43. In the 3rd quarter the Captains were able to make up the difference and captured the lead with a field goal from Angelo Reyes to put the Captains on top 67-66. In the 4th quarter, it was the Caciques trailing during the first half of the quarter until Miguel Berdiel tied the game at 79 points with a field goal with 5:38 to go in the game. Larry Ayuso made 3 free throws to put the Captain in the lead for good. For Arecibo, Larry Ayuso scored 24 points while Tim Pickett scored 16 points. For Humacao, Miguel Berdiel scored 34 points followed by James Mays and John Millsap with 14 points each. This was the only game on tap last night in the BSN. *by Luis Ramirez
