Finals Game 1: Culiacan - Cananea 81-80

Culiacan celebrated 81-80 thriller win in Game One of the CIBACOPA Finals. The hosts had to work very hard, but managed to secure 1-0 lead in the series. Marcus Moore top-scored in Culiacan with 23 points. Victor Avila also was great as he added 18 points and 7 boards. Pedro David Meza Rogel (7 rebs) and Horacio Llamas (6 rebs) netted 14 and 11 points respectively. On the other side, Cananea got 20 points and 7 rebounds from Isaac Gutierrez. Letheal Cook had double-double of 18 points and 13 rebs. Firth quarter was pretty leveled, but still it belonged to Culiacan 20-19. Visitors improved after that and managed to make 32-33 turn until the half time. Isaac Gutierrez and his teammates shined after the breather taking full control on their rivals. Cananea drained 24 pts in this period, while limiting Culiacan to 19. It means that visitors had decent six point lead before the last quarter. The hosts finally woke up after that and started to make shots. They drained impressive 30 pts in the last ten minutes and somehow managed to grab 81-80 victory at the end. Second game is scheduled for today (Friday).
