Canada blasted Mexico in Day One of the FIBA Americas U18 Championship in Colorado Springs. It means that Canada jumped to 1-0 in Group A having the same score as Chile, who outplayed Costa Rica. Each of Canada's players managed to score in this game. Laura Anne Dally was the leading one with 15 points. Michelle Pouffe and Megan Lukan helped the Canadian squad with 10 points apiece. On the other side, Mexico had just one player with double-digits in scoring and it was Andrea Medina - 13 pts. Canada was better team from the start. After ten minutes of play Laura Anne Dally and her teammates already were 24-11 up. Nothing has changed for rest of the first half, when Canada jumped to impressive 43-19. Question about the winner was already decided, despite there was 20 minutes left in the game. Canada was better 17-5 in Q3 and 17-7 in the last period for the final 77-31 victory. Beside the points, it is important to mention that Canada totally outjumped their rivals ending the game with 25 rebounds more (Canada 52 rebs, Mexico 27). On Day Two, Canada will meet Chile. At the same day Mexico will take on Costa Rica.
