Preliminary Round Day 2: CHILE - CANADA 33-66

Canada blasted Chile in Day Two of the FIBA Americas U18 Championship securing the first place in Group A. Despite there is one more round to go in Preliminary stage, it is already clear that Canada will advance to Semifinals as No.1. Also, the Canadian NT already booked a ticket for 2011 FIBA U19 World Championship in Chile. Michelle Plouffe was the leading player in this victory. She spent 28 minutes on the court collecting 27 points and 11 rebounds. Plouffe was the MVP with valuation 29. Cassandra Brown helped the Canadians with 14 points and 5 boards. In the loosing squad, Cynthia Bascunan delivered 9 points. Her Chile dropped to 1-1, but still has a chance to reach the Semis. They will have to beat Mexico, who also has 1-1 now. Canada opened the game with 6-16 in the first quarter and until the half time jumped to 17-36. Than after the breather something extraordinary happened, Chile was scoreless for the entire Q3. Canada, on the other side, drained 21 points and than slowed down. Last quarter belonged to Chile 16-9, but of course it was Canada who celebrated huge 33-66 victory. In Day Three, Canada will meet Costa Rica, while Chile will take on Mexico in crucial game.
