Semi-Finals Game 1: CANADA - BRAZIL 49-50

Brazil grabbed 49-50 thriller win against Canada advancing to Championship Finals. It was a very exciting game and Brazil made it in the finish. It means that Brazil will take on powerful USA in the battle for Gold. On the other side, Canada will meet Chile in the game for third place. Carina Dos Santos and Aruzha Lima were the leading players in victory with 15 points each. Brazil did not have anyone else with double-digits in scoring. In Canada, Michelle Plouffe and Katherine Plouffe replied with 12 points apiece. They grabbed 8 and 7 rebounds respectively. Everything started great for Canada, who created 13-8 lead in the first ten minutes. Brazil struggled at both sides of the court and faced with another bad period (13-8). That resulted with 28-19 HT lead for Canada, who looked comfortable and in control. Michelle Plouffe and her teammates continued in the same rhythm extending the lead to 12 points before the last period. When it seemed that the game is already over, Brazilians finally started to play. Carina Dos Santos and Aruzha Lima were unstoppable offensively pacing their team to magnificent 9-22 in Q4, what was enough for 49-50 thriller win and a spot in the Finals.
