Regular Season Day 2: PANAMA - BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS 75-61

Panama grabbed the first win in Santo Domingo. After 63-56 loss in Day One against Dominican Republic, Panamanians managed to beat the British Virgins Islands with comfortable 75-61. It means that both teams now have 1-1 record in Preliminary Group A. Danilo Pinnock shined for the winners with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Jose Lloreda was the second scorer in Panama with 13 points (6 rebs), while Joel Munoz (6 as) and Ernesto Oglivie added 10 points each. In the loosing squad, Kennedy Bass and Halstead Chiverton delivered 17 points each. Kleon Penn stopped on 10. Panama opened the game in style making nice 27-18 lead in the first ten minutes. IVB players woke up after that and were slightly better in Q2 (16-19) closing the gap to 43-37 until the half time. Both teams struggled offensively in third period, but still it was Panama who ended it 12-10. IVB had to improve drastically, but they simply were not able to do it. Panama played another nice period (20-14) for the final 75-61 victory. In Day Three, Panama will meet the U.S. Virgins Islands. IVB will meet Jamaica.
