Regular Season Day 3: BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS - JAMAICA 56-71

Jamaica had a joyful Day Three in Santo Domingo. After defeat against the hosts in Day Two, Jamaica managed to beat the British Virgin Islands 56-71 for 1-1 record in Preliminary Group A. On the other side, IVB dropped to 1-2. Akeem Scott shined for the winners with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Andre Smith had 15, while Kimani Ffriend added 14 points and 10 boards. Garfield Blair helped his team with 12 pts and 8 boards. In the loosing squad, Halstead Chiverton shined with 27 points. Kleon Peen had 10 pts and 10 rebs. Jamaica did a great job in the first half. Akeem Scott and his teammates opened the game better making 9-13 lead in the first ten minutes. They managed to keep IVB with less than ten points for another period, while scoring 17 on the other side. It means that Jamaica was comfortable 18-30 up at the HT. IVB slightly improved after the breather, but it was enough just for minus 11 before the last ten minutes. Jamaica shined when it was the most important finishing Q4 with 20-24 for the final 56-71 victory. In Day Four, Jamaica will meet the U.S. Virgin Islands. IVB will play against Dominican Republic.
