Regular Season Day 3: MEXICO - PUERTO RICO 82-95

Puerto Rico grabbed the first win in Santo Domingo for 1-1 score in Preliminary Group B. Puerto Ricans faced with OT loss against Trinidad and Tobago in their first appearance, but they quickly recovered from it and managed to grab the first win at 2010 Centrobasket. On the other side, Mexico faced with the second loss at this event (1-2). Peter John Ramos paced Puerto Rico to win collecting 16 points and 9 rebounds. Jose Juan Barea had 15 pts, 6 boards and 12 assists in this meeting. Carlos Arroyo (8 as) and Filiberto Rivero added 14 and 12 pts respectively. In defeat, Jovan Harris replied with 22 points. Omar Quintero stopped on 16. Puerto Rico took control on Mexico from the very beginning. After opening ten minutes Puerto Ricans were already 18-27 up and were looking comfortable. Mexico was not able to resists and Q2 also belonged to Peter John Ramos and his teammates (17-23). Nothing has changed after the breather and Puerto Rico finished Q3 with 22-27 for excellent 20-point lead before the last ten minutes. The game winner was already known at that time and Puero Rico slowed down, what Mexico used to cut the margin to 13 pts. In Day Four, Puerto Rico will play against Cuba. Mexico will meet Trinidad and Tobago.
