Puerto Rico smashed Jamaica in the 2010 Centrobasket Finals. It means that Puerto Rico won the Gold medal at this championship with the perfect record (5-0). On the other side, the Silver belongs to Jamaica. Both teams booked a spot for the 2011 FIBA-Americas Championship (Pre-Olympic) and also for the 2011 Pan-American Games in Guadalajara. Jazmine Sepulveda shined for the winners with 20 points and 6 assists. Pamela Rosado had 11 points and 5 assists, while Stephanie Rosado and Angiely Morales added 10 points each. In Jamaica, Vanessa Gidden collected 20 points and 9 rebounds. Nicole Louden stopped on 11 pts and 6 assists. Puerto Rico took control on Jamaica from the early beginning. Jazmine Sepulveda and her teammates made nice 12-24 in the first quarter sending a clear signal they are going to take this one. However, Jamaica improved in the second frame closing the gap to 30-37 until the half time. Third quarter was the crucial one in this finals. Puerto Rico intensified defense stopping Jamaica to just 5 points for ten minutes, while they drained 20 on the other side. Puerto Rico was huge 22 points up and question about the winner was resolved. They ended last quarter 13-15 for the final 48-72 victory and the Gold medal in Mayaguez.
