Qualifying Round Day 5: LITHUANIA - SPAIN 77-58

Lithuania U18 continues their streak and improved to 4-0 record on top of Group E. The home side overcame Spain U18 77:58 in Vilnius at the U18 European Championship. Lithuania is too good in the Championship and is not even thinking of slowing down. In the game versus Spain they did not allow any of the players to score in double digits. Valanciunas opened the game for the hosts and Ulanovas nailed three for 10:5. Both teams finished the quarter with 20:14 and then Skucas brought the Baltic State 22:14. Oriola kept Spain alive at 35:27, while Barrera closed the half at 38:32. Jaime Fernandez brought Spain back to 39:36, but then the hosts created a 7-0 run for 46:36. Due to 24-17 in the frame Lithuania grabbed 62:49 after three quarters. Spain had no chance int he final period to catch up with the opponents that proved the ambitions for the top places in the tournament. Sabonis nailed three at the end of the game for the final success. Valanciunas top-scored for the winners with 20 points and Pukis nailed 19. Ulanovas followed them with 9 points in a win. Oriola and Jaime Fernandez responded with 9 points apiece in defeat.
